I was born in China, but I am an American by choice. Even though I have liked writing ever since I was young, my parents warned me not to turn this hobby into a profession—they had witnessed too many books being burned and too many writers being persecuted in China.
In 2013, I became a citizen of the United States. Alarmed by the American left’s growing flirtation with socialist ideology, I decided to share my family’s story, hoping our experiences of struggle and survival under a socialist regime would persuade Americans to appreciate the freedom they have and dissuade them from bringing this evil ideology to this country. That project became my first book, Confucius Never Said.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback I received for my first book reignited my love for writing. Since then, I have authored three more books and became a senior contributor to The Federalist, a dynamic and influential online publication. My writings also appeared in other influential outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, National Review, and Fox News. I cover a wide range of issues, including culture, education, immigration, and everything related to China.
