Why Isn't This a Bigger Story?
Corporate media has been doing everything in its power to ignore some very important stories.
Most of what I wrote or shared in this newsletter have been opinion pieces. But from time to time, there is a need to bring certain important news to readers’ attention because corporate media has been doing everything in its power to ignore them.
No. 1 Are We All Lab Mice?
The Biden administration has begun to offer another round of covid booster shots to all Americans age 12 or older. At the end of August, the FDA and the CDC gave the green light to the boosters manufactured by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna without any clinical trial data on humans. Instead, the FDA said it based its authorization on “existing Covid vaccine safety, plus clinical trial data of earlier bivalent vaccines targeting older forms of omicron and current lab data on the BA.5 shot in mice.” Dr. Rochelle Walensky, head of the CDC, justified her decision by stating, “If we wait for those data to emerge in human data, not just mice data, we will be using what I would consider being a potentially outdated vaccine.”
While most U.S. media covered this news, they simply repeated the government’s “everything is fine” assurance without asking questions or expressing the slightest concern about the potential risks of injecting something into our bodies that haven’t even been tested on a human yet. The fundamental journalistic responsibility of asking questions and reporting concerns and criticism of the Biden administration’s rushed decision fell on foreign media.
According to the Financial Times (FT), a London-based center-left newspaper, “several health experts said that the boosters had yielded only limited data from a small number of tests on mice. They said there is no evidence that they provide better protection against infection or severe disease than existing jabs.”
The FT interviewed Dr. Paul Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Per FT, “Offit was one of two members of a U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory panel to vote against asking Pfizer and Moderna to develop the bivalent vaccine without clinical data showing it performed better than the existing Covid jab.” FT quoted Offit asking: “What bothers me in this is that we’re willing to move forward with a vaccine with no human data? I just think that’s a lot to ask people.” Dr. Offit is right that Americans shouldn’t be treated like lab mice by our government. Why isn’t this a bigger story for U.S. media?
The Biden administration has kept saying it wanted to increase the vaccination rate among Americans. By rolling out new vaccines without clinical testing on humans, the FT warned, would “risk denting public trust and increasing hesitancy about vaccines.”
Another covid related news that hasn’t gotten enough attention is this: The latest CDC paper on vaccine myocarditis is NOT reassuring
