Why Does the Democratic Establishment Remind Me of the CCP
The Democratic establishment's coverups and lies were never about saving democracy. They were always about getting hold of power and remaining in power.

I know some of you may think the title of this week’s newsletter is too provocative. Some may argue: “Come on! Unlike the CCP, the Democratic establishment doesn’t banish their political opponents to gulags or rely on terror to suppress dissent.” These are all valid points that I agree with, which is why I NEVER said the Democratic establishment is the same as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
It’s crucial to reiterate that my criticism is aimed at the Democratic establishment, not every Democratic party member. Some of my friends are lifelong Democrats, who are decent and patriotic Americans, and they share my concerns about the harm caused by the Democratic establishment. As someone who grew up in Communist China, I notice there are at least three similarities between the Democratic establishment and the CCP that Americans shouldn’t ignore.
The first similarity is that both the CCP and the Democratic establishment responded to something threatening their rule through coverups and lies, regardless of the cost.
For example, during the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan in late fall of 2019, the Chinese authorities didn’t inform the World Health Organization and the Chinese public in time about the accurate number of cases and COVID-19 virus’s ability to be transmitted from human to human. Instead, Wuhan authorities chose to reprimand whistleblowers such as Dr. Li Wenliang, demanding him to stay quiet. Chinese government censors, working with social media companies such as Tencent, began to censor coronavirus-related postings, shutting down news sites and online forums and blocking specific keywords related to the coronavirus outbreak.
Unaware of the risks, the general public took no initial precautions and went about their business, including attending mass banquets. By the time Beijing imposed a lockdown on Wuhan on Jan. 23rd, 2020, five million people had left Wuhan, and the worldwide spread of the virus became unstoppable. A global pandemic disrupted economies and turned all of our lives upside down.
Similarly, the Democratic establishment has covered up and lied about President Joe Biden’s mental and physical decline for three years. Here is the beginning of an extraordinary investigative report from the Wall Street Journal:
“President Biden had just finished trying to persuade a group of congressional Democrats to pass a $1 trillion infrastructure bill when Nancy Pelosi, then the House speaker, took the microphone.
In 30 minutes of remarks on Capitol Hill, Biden had spoken disjointedly and failed to make a concrete ask of lawmakers, according to Democrats in the room. After he left, a visibly frustrated Pelosi told the group she would articulate what Biden had been trying to say, one lawmaker said.
“It was the first time I remember people pretty jarred by what they had seen,” recalled Rep. Dean Phillips (D., Minn.), who would go on to mount an unsuccessful primary challenge against the president.
That was October 2021 [highlighted by me]. That month was the last time Biden met with the House Democratic caucus on the Hill regarding legislation.”
The Democratic establishment, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer, Vice President Kamala Harris, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, and Biden’s former chief of staff, Ron Klain, all knew about Biden’s increasing infirmity. Yet until a few days ago, they continued to cover up for him by praising Biden for being “very sharp and bright” and always “staying on top of things’, dismissing any concern of Biden’s deterioration as a right-wing conspiracy, even attacking their own who voiced concerns about Biden’s health, such as special counsel Robert Hur, who described Joe Biden as “an elderly man with a poor memory.”
