I had avoided writing anything about the Uvalde school massacre because I was overwhelmed with sadness for the loss of so many innocent lives every time I thought about it. Gradually, as more information emerged about that tragic event, my sadness was replaced by disappointment and fury at the adults who failed to do their jobs to protect innocent lives and who are still not held accountable for their failures.
This week, the Austin American-Statesman newspaper published a surveillance video of the May 24 massacre at the Uvalde elementary school. Since it's my policy not to link or repost images showing others at their most vulnerable state, you will have to search for it on the internet if you want to watch it.
