How to Make a Positive Change
Anger, cynicism, and despair don't bring positive change in life. Only actions will.
My husband and I donated a cuddle cot to Denver Health early this month. It was the fourth donation we have made to hospitals in Colorado since 2018.
If you are unfamiliar with cuddle cots or what happened to our son, here is the back story. We lost our precious baby boy, Lucas Zhou Raleigh, on May 14th, 2018, and our lives have been changed forever.
During my long grieving process, I learned a few things. Until recently, parents in the U.S. who have lost their babies through either stillbirth or neonatal death have had to say goodbye to their precious child within a very short time window before letting them go to the mortuary. No matter what time of the year it is, hospitals are generally kept at a warm temperature, causing the color and condition of their babies to change quickly. This process alone makes it all the more heartbreaking for grieving parents.
