I was in California last week, and Fox News contacted me, wanting to speak to me about Taiwan’s upcoming election on Saturday. My interview was scheduled for 5:20 am PST on Saturday, which meant I had to get up at 4 am to get ready and would have to interview in a hotel room on my iPhone.
I didn’t sleep well Friday night and kept getting up to check live election updates. Right before my hit time with Fox, I learned that Lai Ching-te of the DPP won.
Here is the recording of that interview. If I didn’t look as good or not as polished as I usually would, this was why. Honestly, I didn’t really care how I looked.
Although I was tired, I was filled with joy for the people in Taiwan. They cherished their freedom and right to self-determination so much that they defiantly ignored Beijing’s warning and courageously chose a candidate they believed to be the best fit to lead them through the challenges ahead.
