For Putin, Biden is a Gift that Keeps on Giving
From canceling the Keystone to the approval of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, the biggest beneficiary of President Biden's policies has always been Putin.
In a dramatic departure from a long-standing U.S. foreign policy, the Biden administration announced that it would let Russia complete its Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline project in Europe. The decision is a gift to Russia but a sellout of U.S. allies such as Poland and Ukraine. It will also pose severe risks to long-term security and the U.S. interests in Europe.
There is no doubt that Europe has an energy deficiency problem, which has been mostly self-inflicted. Germany is a perfect example. The German government wants to replace 80 percent of its energy from green energy such as solar and wind by 2050. In its quest for "going green," Germany is on track to close all of its nuclear power plants by 2022, even though nuclear power is one of the cleanest energy sources and is known for being low-carbon.
